Who is Popawrx?

I am a self-taught New Zealand (Wellington) based artist and member of the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts (NZAFA).I am driven by a deep passion for exploring the human condition amid the social, geopolitical and environmental upheavals of our time. I enjoy capturing those fleeting moments in a world of ever-changing variables, encouraging you the viewer, to engage with and interpret the story through your own life experience.My subjects and perspectives (rendered in oil or acrylic) are the product of a life well-travelled and lived, without compromise or apology.My artwork is diverse, occasionally brutal, sometimes humorous, but always honest. It reflects my Gen-X childhood and observations of influential people and events that have either profoundly affected or influenced me, or in my view have shaped our world.I consider my art a convergence of Pop Art with Neo-Classical elements and Realism, often featuring allegorical themes.In essence, Popawrx represents serious art - with attitude!

What is Popawrx real identity?

For professional reasons I paint under a pseudonym (Popawrx) to craft a bold, unforgettable identity for my artistic oeuvre. My real identity is completely inconsequential.

How would you best describe your style?

A convergence of Pop Art, Neo-Classical elements and Realism often featuring allegorical themes.

Do you sell your work direct?

No, ArtSift® takes care of that on my behalf. That way, I can just concentrate my efforts on what really matters - creating great art!

Who is ArtSift?

ArtSift® is the only official representative body permitted by me to use, licence, authenticate, certify and sell all of my new artwork.

How do I know I am purchasing a genuine Popawrx piece of art?

All Popawrx original and gallery limited edition pieces produced by me are signed, contain a unique ArtSift registration number and are accompanied by a certificate of authenticity (COA), unique to that specific work. If you are considering purchasing any Popawrx original or gallery limited edition artwork, insist on sighting the COA before making your purchase. If in doubt about the legitimacy, always check with ArtSift first .

Do you accept private commissions?

Yes, on occasion. However, whether I will actually accept is contingent upon a number of factors, in particular the extent of my current work schedule. To enquire abouit my availability, in the first instance please contact ArtSift.

Do you licence your artwork

If you are a company seeking to licence Popawrx art for commercial use, then you are out of luck! Only ArtSift have exclusive permission to use or licence the Popawrx brand, artwork and any Popawrx related merchandise.To be clear, if any other organisation has granted you permission other than ArtSift - you don't have permission!If you are unsure in any way about your legal obligations regarding use of the Popawrx® brand, related artwork, merchandise and my copyright please contact ArtSift.
